This one is personal.

I didn't set out to become a skincare maker. But after years of standing in store aisles, flipping over overpriced jars, reading ingredient lists I couldn't pronounce, and watching influencers sell products that are popular for the wrong reasons  — wondering where those animals came from, how they were raised, whether anyone actually cared — I decided enough was enough. I wanted to know exactly what was going on my skin and my family's skin and I was sick of paying top tier prices for low tier products. So, I went back to the most ancient, time-honored moisturizer there is: beef tallow.

At Lester Farms Homestead, we raise our own beef. The suet used in our tallow comes directly from our animals — animals we have raised with care, respect, and intention from day one. When we need more than our herd provides, we source locally from trusted friends whose beef we know and believe in. There are no mystery supply chains here. No questionable sourcing. Just honest, clean, farm-raised ingredients you can feel good about putting on your skin.

Why Beef Tallow?

Beef tallow has been used for centuries as a skin nourisher — long before the beauty industry convinced us we needed a 12-step routine full of synthetic fillers. Tallow is remarkably similar in composition to the natural oils our skin produces, which means it absorbs deeply and works with your skin rather than sitting on top of it. It is rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, deeply moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and incredibly nourishing for dry, sensitive, or troubled skin.

But what makes our tallow different? We don't stop at just tallow and jojoba oil. Every single one of our blends includes Castor Oil and Vitamin E Oil — two powerful additions you won't find in most basic tallow products. Castor oil draws moisture deep into the skin and supports healthy circulation, while Vitamin E is a powerhouse antioxidant that protects, repairs, and promotes glowing, youthful skin. It's a small difference that makes a big impact.

How to Use

Scoop a small amount — a little goes a long way — and warm between your fingertips before applying. Use as a daily moisturizer, night cream, lip balm, cuticle treatment, or anywhere your skin needs extra love. Safe for face and body. Gentle enough for sensitive skin.  How long this lasts will depend on you.  

About That Glow — This Is Normal!

When you first apply tallow, you may notice a beautiful glistening on your skin. First-time tallow users sometimes mistake this for the product being too oily or heavy — but this is actually tallow doing exactly what it is supposed to do. That glow is the tallow working at a molecular level, bonding with your skin's natural lipids and locking in moisture from deep within. Because tallow is so biocompatible with human skin, it doesn't just sit on the surface — it absorbs and integrates. Give it a few minutes and you will notice that glistening fade as the tallow fully absorbs, leaving your skin feeling soft, nourished, and never greasy. Clean, grounding, and timeless. Pure frankincense essential oil paired with our signature tallow base for a simple, sacred daily ritual.

Humble
Warm, earthy, and deeply grounding. This blend of patchouli, clove, and wild orange wraps around you like a cozy autumn evening — rich, complex, and the kind of scent that makes you stop everything, close your eyes, and take a long, slow deep breath (hello mamas!). When the world feels like too much, reach for Humble. It's the scent equivalent of coming home.

Anointed
Purposeful, uplifting, and beautifully balanced. Frankincense, rosemary, and geranium come together in a blend that feels like self-care in its truest form — intentional, restorative, and quietly powerful. (one of my personal favorites!)

Wildflower
